Aloha!

A couple of weeks ago, Garrett and I returned from the most fabulous trip to Hawaii. We joined my parents and almost all of my siblings on an "adults only" trip to Maui after a short visit to Oahu with just Garrett and I. Thanks to my generous parents for providing our beautiful lodging in Maui - we had such an amazing time.
I'll post more pics from our trip as soon as my sister finishes compiling them from all of our cameras. For now, here's just a little taste of our trip:

Beautiful beaches

Beautiful scenery

Amazing sunsets

Awesome sealife

And great times with the family!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Last night Garrett and I went with my family to The Garden Restaurant to celebrate my Dad's birthday. The restaurant had a great view of downtown, a great atmosphere, delicious cinnamon chocolate cake, and pretty decent food. Thanks, Dad for letting us celebrate your birthday with you! We sure love you!

Happy 28th!

Happy 28th to my husband, best friend, and all around favorite person in the world! Last Sunday we had both sides of the family over to our house for a big spaghetti dinner and cake and ice cream to celebrate Garrett's birthday.

Gave him a fancy new GPS for his car!

Then on Wednesday (his actual birthday), we went to Wingers for dinner and then to Winner's Motorsports park to race on the go-carts. Took me awhile to get used to driving and I got a little carsick towards the end, but we had a good time!

Happy Birthday, love!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Swiss Days = Pure Bliss. There's nothing better than hanging out with my family at Swiss Days and eating a huge scone and Coke for lunch...

And a then a Navajo taco for dinner with some Razzleberry pie for dessert. Not to mention some great shopping with my mom and sisters. Can you tell I love Swiss Days?

Made some of this delicious raspberry freezer jam with my mom yesterday. I've never been able to eat regular store-bought jam. I blame my mom for this - she's the one that's been spoiling me with homemade jam all my life. And now that I know how to make it, I don't have to steal jars from my mom's freezer any more!

My most favorite thing: Spending time with this guy (whose b-day happens to be tomorrow!)

We went on a beautiful hike on a trail above the Bountiful Temple on Labor Day before I had to go into work. We didn't quite make it to the end due to my knee problems, but I sure loved having Garrett all to myself. The backyard has had the pleasure of Garrett's company most of the summer, so I'm looking forward to having him back now that it's all done (for this year anyways)!

GREEN!

BEFORE...

DURING...

AFTER!

Thanks to all our wonderful friends and neighbors who came to help Garrett lay sod on Saturday! There's nothing better than looking out your back windows and seeing GREEN!

Park City

Garrett and I decided to head up to Park City to spend a night to celebrate our anniversary. We got packed up on Saturday morning and headed out - but instead of driving towards Park City, Garrett surprised me and drove to a car dealership! I was a little confused why, but realized that he'd been planning on doing this for awhile. So we spent most of the day test driving cars and picked one out! Unfortunately, it was unavailable to pick up until Monday(pics will be coming), so we headed up to Park City in the Honda.

We had an awesome dinner at a restaurant called 350 Main in Park City.

We spent the rest of the evening walking down Main Street, eating carameled apples at Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory, and hanging out in the hot tub at our hotel.

It was such a relaxing weekend and such a great way to celebrate our anniversary.

2 Years of Bliss

Goodbye trusty old Honda...

Hello new Subaru Legacy!
We picked up our new car on Monday afternoon and I think I am in love! Oh how I love this guy and oh how I love this car!

Since we had a fancy dinner out over the weekend, we decided to have a fancy dinner in on our actual anniversary. I cooked lemon pepper salmon, wild rice, grilled veggies, and rolls made from scratch. I even broke out the china for this dinner.

After dinner we took a spin in our new car. This is what Garrett had taped to the window of the driver's side window when we went to get in the car. In case any of you didn't catch on, all 7 of the notes Garrett had been leaving me over the past week were the words "I love you" in different languages. Oh how I love my husband!

Here are some pics of us cruisin' around town :)

After we came back to the house, we had chocolate fondue for dessert while we watched our wedding video.
This was such an amazing anniversary and I am so grateful to have such an awesome husband who loves me enough to make our anniversary celebration last a week long. I truly do have the sweetest husband ever and I count my lucky stars every day that he's mine. I love you, babe!
